Mysterious Girlfriend X finally got their anime adaptation, and they really were true to the Manga!! The Seiyuu’s of the anime are so far working for me. The music really goes with the tone of the story. Some may see this anime as weird or odd, but in my eyes its UNIQUE AND AWESOME!
The story starts with Akira Tsubaki having a dream of him making love with a woman, being a part of the love-making process.
The next day at his school, a new transfer student arrives to class. Her name is Urabe Mikoto, she makes an almost not great impression on her classmates by giving a small introduction.
The scene that made me appreciate the voice of Urabe (Ayako Yoshitani), she was sitting in class amongst others taking notes from the teacher’s lecture. Urabe suddenly starts to laugh, she becomes hysterical and falls from her chair and onto the floor in a non stop laughter.
The turning point of the episode was when Tsubaki goes back to class to retrieve his backpack and finds Urabe sleeping in class. He wakes her up and finds a drooling Urabe, she leaves a small river of saliva on the desk. Of all things what happens next is quite shocking and great, Tsubaki gives the saliva a taste!
Days after the drool taste, Tsubaki suddenly becomes ill with a high fever. Days without going to school, Urabe decides to pay a visit to Tsubaki’s home. After making contact with him, she gives him the lowdown on why he is becoming sick. Urabe makes him confess that he tasted her drool, for that he was having withdrawals from her drool. With a strong connection, that is why he became sick. The only way to get out of this rut is to satisfy his body with more of Urabe’s saliva.
After that, the following days it was a daily routine where Urabe gave Tsubaki his daily dose of her saliva.
Tsubaki confess to Urabe and wants her to be his girlfriend. But, Urabe lowers the test onto Tsubaki; his confession has to be special. Tsubaki grabs a picture of a girl from his past, where he had a huge crush on. He rips the picture in front of Urabe saying that he has no need for it because he has Urabe.
This was her reaction. That’s great if you ask me!! Urabe was overcome with emotion, and this was good reaction from what Tsubaki did.
You better get use to this move, if you followed the Manga, you know about the “panty scissors.”
Here’s the ending! My impression is mostly of happiness of how true it stayed with the Manga. Urabe is weird, blunt and awesome. I would love a girl like this!! Next episode please!
